On occasion a well meaning soul will write and complain/admonish that I write too much about those who suffer in life, those poor souls who seem to attract trouble and woe. One reason I write along such themes is due to the fact that when I wake up only depressed I know it will be a much better day than most. Thus I write to as did David, encourage myself in the Lord.

Suzanne Moary wrote, “In extreme youth, in our most humiliating sorrow we think we are alone. When we are older we find that others have suffered too.”

So, it should be obvious too all but the most obtuse that I am trying to help others know that they are not alone, that some of the world’s most famous people, have suffered and sorrowed through the vale we call life. Job, a heaven class sufferer stated in Job 5:7 “Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.” When we accept this truth, we are then living spiritually, emotionally and physically in the real world rather than Egyptian river de-Nile.

When we leave off kidding ourselves about reality it is at that point that we can learn to live a reasonably enjoyable life in the secure knowledge that Christ is with us in the troubles and sorrows. That others are in the boat called Sorrows enables us to truly trust Christ as he is oft referred to as The Man of Sorrows. He is also the One who made the following comforting promise in Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Just knowing He is here, makes living great.
