In the garden stood the loveliest of trees
tall and strong bearing beautiful leaves
such as never crossed my eyes.
The apples and pears not a worm kiss lies,
nor were the animals despised.

The green grass tickled my feet
walking through paradise, oh how sweet
to feel the warmth of the sun kissing my cheeks
to fill my mind with the maturing weeks
losing this visage that man now seeks.

Across the river rests peace unveiled
the lion and lamb lie lovesome unassailed.
Larks soaring away in the sky
do music make ere long they fly
till the sting of Winter cause to die.

Through the vapor that fadeth soon away
our pilgrimage must faithful stay
through the Light of His gospel, He'll call
us forth, His saints innumerable, redeemed from the fall
'Tis a grace that should strike an awe in all.
