My book Outrageous Forgiveness In 30 Days is getting legs, small legs, but legs nonetheless for which I am thankful. I am relatively sure that Barbi Carroll has not read the book, but she touched on an important part of it the other day when she wrote the following on Facebook:

“Holding a grudge is letting someone live rent free in your head.”

Holding a grudge carries the thought of harboring evil thoughts and intents toward someone or several others for some reason. When a grudge is harbored, simply meaning at anchor in your mind instead of sailing way with the winds of progress, you are hurting your life emotionally and spiritually and to a degree mentally. A true grudge keeps recycling the information pertaining to the grudge and this upsets you all over again. Barbi’s statement is on point with the information given to us by James 5:9 “Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.”

James used a word that means to “be in straits” or in our use, “the thought of him/her/them gives me knots in my stomach.” I hope you live several blocks away from that street and you can by learning from Christ how to forgive and to do it outrageously.
