Recently two men were arrested and charged wth the sniper shootings that terrorized parts of Washington D.C., Virginia and Maryland. Some people may ask, is there forgiveness for people like them? The answer is yes. Because of Christ's death, burial and resurrection, even the worst of sinners can receive eternal life and forgiveness if they sincerely ask Christ to come into their lives. The snipers can be miraculously transformed if they choose to.


Think about the apostle Paul. He was a devout Jew who persecuted the church and watched as Stephen was stoned to death. But after his conversion he became a zealous laborer for the gospel.


There are modern day examples of murderers who were miraculously changed. One example is the Son of Sam, the serial killer who took dozens of women's lives in New York in 1977. Two or three years ago he gave his testimony of how he came to Christ on the 700 Club. There seems to be a change in his life. Then there's Karla Faye Tucker, the woman who was executed in Texas. Shortly before her death she became a Christian.

Too often we treat murder,homosexuality, adultery and fornication like the unpardonable sin. All sin is an insult to a holy God, and He isn't lenient towards certain sins. But the good news is that whatever sins we committed, God is waiting to receive us with forgiveness, hope and the gift of eternal life through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
