In addition to the Word of Knowledge being listed as one of the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit, there is also the gift of the Word of Wisdom.

To know what the difference is between these 2 gifts, you have to know the basic difference between knowledge and wisdom. For related article, see adam and eve story.

The first step is to have knowledge about something. But the next step is to be able to take that knowledge and apply it to a real life situation. All of that knowledge will do you no good if you do not have the wisdom on how to apply it to a real, life, working situation.

For instance, if God is calling you to be a medial doctor and you are in school learning all of the knowledge on how to be a good doctor, that is the first step.

But the 2nd step is to be able to take all of that knowledge you have leaned in school and then apply it to the real world once you become a full-pledged doctor. You will have to have wisdom on how to apply everything you have learned in medical school if you want to be a great doctor.

Since our knowledge and wisdom levels are imperfect and incomplete, we all need the wisdom of the Holy Spirit operating through us. And this gift of the Holy Spirit can give this kind of wisdom to you. The Holy Spirit is called the Helper in the Bible and He can literally help you with everything across the board of your life if you will ask Him to do this for you.

God can give you His words of wisdom on how to handle the problems that will occur in your marriages and at your place of employment. If you are in school, God can give you words of wisdom on any specific subject matter you may be taking a class on so you can pass all of your tests with flying colors.

To those of you who were not aware of this incredible gift that is available from the Lord, all you have to do is ask Go that He will want to do so.

If you put this kind of sincere request before Him, He will hear you loud and clear, and He will then move to start releasing some of these 9 gifts for you.

As Christians, we all need words of knowledge and words of wisdom coming to us from the Lord, since our own knowledge and wisdom levels are so imperfect and so incomplete. Only God is all-knowing, and we thus should be relying more on His knowledge and wisdom to get us through this life in one piece, not on our own knowledge and wisdom.

The Holy Spirit is also called our Teacher and Guide in this life. And He cannot teach us and guide us in this life unless He can first transmit these words of knowledge and wisdom to us as we will need it.
