THEY CALL IT NORMAL:

Having single-parent homes where children are raising children – that’s pretty common.

Having parents who are dysfunctional and strung out on liquids, drugs or activities – that’s quite usual.

Having children who spend alternate weekends with one parent, and then the other – that’s normal.

Having people who get married with little commitment, who flee at the first difficulty – that is now ordinary.

Having familes deep in debt with the credit cards maxed out, living paycheck to paycheck – that is fairly standard.

Having marriages where one or both people have affairs on the side – that is rather average.

Having people who attand church and claim to love Christ, but who live like the world – that is pretty common.

Having adults who are discouraged, depressedt and stressed-out – that is also normal.

Having people who are weary, tired and who have no hope; who have little desire to live – that’s normal, too.

Normal doesn’t look that great – maybe that is why God calls us to the abundant life.

Having Jesus in your heart, with honesty, responsibility and care for others – that makes people happy, which is not normal.
