Jesus the Perfect Sacrifice

Jesus had something most of us today do not have. He had a desire to please His Father. Jesus became that perfect sacrifice. He became a sacrificial lamb with no flaws, fault, or blemish. He surrendered his life to save the soul of mankind. He suffered loss of blood but it was to cover the sins of God’s people. He gave up the Holy Ghost that He would be here to keep us and help us to stay holy and walk the walk of Christ. He renounced sin in the flesh. He injured Satan by putting him under our feet. He destroyed Satan’s ideal to steal the hearts of men to him. Jesus then brought eternal life promised back to man. Jesus is the perfect sacrifice.

A sacrifice is destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else. To suffer loss of, give up, renounce, injure, or destroy for an ideal, belief or end. This sacrifice was special to God. It would be the final sacrifice man would have to atone for their sins. A sacrifice is something or someone that we have that we can take pleasure in. God took pleasure in His Son’s ability to act and produce the right outcome or effect. Jesus was strengthened by the Holy Ghost that he would maintain and possess control, authority and influence over the flesh that now embodied Him. This same power; the Holy Ghost is there to help us today to have power over sin. When man stops communicating with God, studying the Word, or getting proper rests he lose his consciousness of God. When Jesus was tempted in like manner of man it was when he was tired and hungry in the flesh.

Jesus gave his life a ransom for all and in doing so he brought us back. He paid the ultimate price to bring forth deliverance to all that would receive. The ransom was the price paid for the release of the one captive or bound by sin. Matthew 20:28 Jesus said he came to give his life a ransom for many. He purchased redemption for man's deliverance from sin. Jesus brought for us spiritual salvation. He connected salvation with spirituality with his person (holy and sanctified) and in well-known passages with his death. No more lambs had to die nor does mankind have to die. Everything Jesus related to us shows that whatever is thought of or done with God is spiritually discerned. A carnal mind cannot comprehend what God is saying to them in their own mind. God must breathe on the Word spoken and on the heart of men at the same time that they may understand. The blessings Jesus gave (Luke 1:74-79) was spiritual; knowledge of salvation, remission of sins, holiness, guidance, and peace.

God reasons with us, but natural understanding cannot be applied to religion. Isaiah 1:18 come now let us reason together said the Lord. Jesus is righteous. God had given man influence, power, and dominion over everything in the earth, but they lost that influence, power, and dominion because of sin. God granted Jesus power to redeem man back to Him within the bounds of limits set by God. Jesus had jurisdiction over all of the earth God gave Jesus power to direct and restrain man to obey the laws of God. Jesus stayed within the boundaries and limits set by God making man a perfect sacrifice. Paul in Romans 12:1 I beseech you brethren by the mercies of God that we present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which is our reasonable service. After all Jesus did not complain about giving up his life although he had no sin. Because Jesus was a man in the earth he was tempted in like passions as a man. He too had to make choices; will I obey my Father or not, I am here now. We cannot lean to our own understanding. We cannot lend our hands, arms, eyes, noses, ears, or any parts of our bodies to the Devil. Jesus compels man to obey God. Jesus has sovereign power, supreme authority over all of mankind. God has entrusted man in Jesus hands and Jesus thereby entrusts man into the hand of men.

Man has become like Felix in Acts 24:25 as Paul reasoned with the people of righteousness and temperance and judgment Felix trembled and told Paul to go on his way. Felix would then call Paul when it is convenient. Why did Felix want Paul to come when it would be convenient for him? Well Felix wasn’t ready to give into righteousness. Righteousness was of necessity and is always the basis of the idea of righteousness is conformity to a standard of perfection. Righteousness is an attribute of God that signifies holiness, justice and right doing. So what Felix was saying as many say today; they are not ready to give up their sin. When righteousness is applied to man, righteousness signifies the possession of the Christian virtues; faith, hope, and charity. This man’s life will then conform to the Divine Law. The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way. Who is it here that is righteous? Jesus righteousness tends to life, so they that pursue righteousness lives but those that pursue evil, pursues it to their own death. Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people.

John 3:21 but he that doeth truth cometh to the light; that his deeds may be made manifest that are wrought in God. Our righteous life says we believe God to be true. We have been given power to live unto God. Romans 6:19 even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. Jesus yielded his whole self to the work he came to do in the earth. He did this so the righteousness of the law would be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit. No man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost. If any man be in Christ he is a new creature; old things are passed away and behold all things are become new. (I John 3:7) we are only born of God when we do not commit sin. If we know that Jesus is righteous, then everyone that do righteousness is born of God.

Jesus redeemed us and when we hope in Him there is mercy plenteous in redemption. Jesus didn’t come to be ministered to but to minister and give his life for us. Because Jesus became a living sacrifice for us being freely justified by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ, we have remission of sin. I Corinthians 1:30 but of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace. Jesus gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity. We have an eternal inheritance which God promised in Revelation 5:9, and I Peter 1:18. We have atonement because with the precious blood of Christ, as a lamb without blemish and without spot. Jesus didn’t mar his life one way or another. We have to be careful of the examples we set. We are not to lord over God’s people, His Heritage! We are there though being that example that can only come when we yield ourselves fully to God for His use. Our spirituality and fitness for sacrifice is not determined by our righteous works done but its according to the mercy of Jesus that saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost which God shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our savior. Ezekiel 11:19 I will give them one heart, and I will put a new Spirit within you and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh and will give them a heart of flesh. Why did God do what he did? He did it so that we would make the choice to walk in his statutes and keep his ordinances, and do them. We are to cast away from us all of our transgressions and make us a new heart and a new spirit.

God put His Spirit in man but because of the disobedience of the first family the spirit in them departed and they became flesh. Jesus brought the Spirit back to us and He brought us back to God. In Matthew 19:28 the word refers to the restoration of all things at the second coming of Christ and in Titus 3:5 it refers to the new birth through the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 1:16 to be and washed, cleansed; put away the evil form us, all evil doings. Some of us don’t care what we do or who sees us. We are sanctified by faith that is in God. Jesus coming opened our eyes. He sent the Holy Spirit that would go in us and dwell to help us finish our life, saved. He put that new Spirit within us. Jesus brings his sacrifice to the altar before God. We bring our offering to traditionally set ideaology made by man. Proverbs 21:3 to do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifices. It was only after the resurrection of Jesus that the Disciples came under the power of the Holy Ghost to realize and understand fully the spiritual nature of the Kingdom of God and of the Messiah as King.

Our minds must be fully made up that we want God and all of Him as well as understand who He is. God love sinful men but he hates the sin they do. It’s a battle for the soul that goes on every day between God and Satan. Our lives are finely tuned as Jesus was before He was crucified. Just as the Disciples waited and received the Holy Ghost, it’s here for us today. It is our insight and power for us to do warfare in the earth. Matthew 28:19-20 go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world; Amen.

This was Jesus promise to us of eternal life. Why do we live ungodly in this ungodly world? We are in the world but not of the world. We are treasuring up stuff in the earth that we cannot leave out of here with.
