Dry and Weary We Are
There is Life in The Spirit

Dry and weary we are. Why are we so weary? Have we not done those things God told us? Why are we so intoxicated with religion? Exhausted in strength? Failing to endure the race with vigor? We are to be made fresh every day for the journey. Why have we allowed the enemy of our soul that has already been kicked out of heaven to weary us? Why have we allowed Satan to wear our patience down? He has murdered our tolerance for serving God where we will wait on Him to move on and in our behalf. If Satan finds he can exhaust our strength, joy and peace that mean we are not trusting God as we say and our faith level is on low fuel. Saints we are running out of gas of our own doing.

The people of God tires God out with their weary attitudes. We wear out too quick to say we are the ones with so much power; the Holy Ghost indwelling in us at that. Will there be times we are exhausted? Yes. The Spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak. The Devil has hung us out to dry just like he had Jesus hung up on the Cross. The only thing was he didn’t realize that he would be stepped on and continue to be under our feet when he had Jesus crucify. He is so smart he thought he was getting rid of Jesus but found out that Jesus had just began to live after dying on the Cross. The problem is we don’t use the power given us. We open doors for Satan to come from under our feet. He is no ordinary character to be taken lightly. He is God’s opponent in the ring and he wants to win. We are weak where God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are concerned. Too many Christians live in woe, a miserable or sorrowful state. Woe is often used in scripture as in interjection expressing sorrow, pity, or apprehension of evil or afflictions. These three things are to be looked at:

(1). Weary
(2). Willingness to submit to the Will of God
(3). Realize we are weak

Jesus fulfilled God’s Will in the earth. Hebrews 10:7 then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy Will, O God. If Jesus himself come from heaven had to submit and obey what about us. We are in a winepress, a place where we wait for the resurrection. We write checks we know won’t clear. Jesus paid our sin debt with His life on a cursed tree. Now if He had to take the pains of life and He had all power what about us? Why do we complain over mediocre things that should not be a thought to the sanctified mind?

We resist God and His Will? Romans 9:18-23 God will have mercy upon whom; he will have mercy. Thou will say then unto me why do he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay; of the same lump to make one vessel to honor and another unto dishonor? What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much long suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: and that he might make know the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory. If God has done so much for us and to us, why do we as His people get weary in well doing?

We must have a willingness to submit to the will of God. God’s Word is nigh us, even in our mouths and in our hearts. We are to speak the Word in faith believing that God will do what He has said in His Word. We submit to God with our works, the things we can attain on our own. It’s not by faith because we don’t want to go through nothing. If we confess with our mouths the Lord Jesus and shall believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead, we shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We need the moving of the Holy Ghost that hears the Word we speak. He was in the beginning and moved on the face of the deep when it was nothing. The Spirit of God moved in agreement with the Word and the Father God.

Man does not follow the Word close enough to understand and hear what God is saying. They take what a commentary and different versions of the Bible says rather than seek out God for what He is speaking to them at the time. We get weary, tired and lazy. We are worn out with works rather than ministry. God must breathe on His Word so that it comes alive in us. Many argue about what is wrong about you but if the Word comes out of a hellish mouth; it’s still the Word. Babies that can’t talk can be used to speak a word for God. The sinner uses the Word. God moves only by what He has said in His Word. We are lazy about submitting to the study of the Word. Another thing Christians do is this. They attain a little something and get lifted up in pride.

However man will not hear what God says to them; rather they rely on their own natural instincts which lack understanding. There is nothing wrong with studying but even in your study the Word have to be breathed upon for the right interpretation. We put too much foolishness over the Word, the Word was in the beginning and the Word was God and the Word was with God. Why are we so dried up? It’s what’s on the inside that thirsts for the fulfillment of its Creator. The soul thirsts in man to know its Creator. The soul yearns for the Word that spoke it into existence.

We don’t have enough of thirsty souls in the Church today. They only live for seedtime and harvest time. Thirsting after the things God say should only come second to Him. Too many pray in vain. Their words should be plain and avoided if they are not profitable to God. Without ever knowing we have darkened our counsel and we seek the tempter rather than the Creator. We speak too many idle words and God is not pleased. We are full of folly, false in our interpretation and in a multitude of sin. Man has swallowed himself up in sin because pride lurks on the inside of us. We are deceitful, hypocritical, talebearers, and we shall be judged.

Jesus in the earth was gracious, full of the Spirit and brought forth life to all. However man had a choice to follow on to know Him. We still have that choice today! We don’t have to be weary and dried up. We can blossom into beautiful children of the Lord; not religious. James 1:18 Jesus of his own will begat us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. It is Jesus who bares record of the Word of God in us. The words of our testimony that we speak is of Jesus Christ.

John in Revelation 1:3 admonished us to read the Word, hear the Word and keep those things that are written in the Word for time is at hand. We are dried up because we do not feed the soul with the Word of God. We are negligent to keep God’s Word when it is not comfortable for us to do it. A fool is known by the words he speaks. They can be very deceitful and a snare to him that utters them. God will judge us through our words, deeds, and actions. Revelations 22:18 for I testify unto every man that hear the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plaques that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

People we are dry and weary because we have taken away from God and His Word. We have used Him and his Word for our own means. God never sleeps, he knows the things we dream up and use to get what we want. He knows when we are interfering with his work and our motives of doing so. The very thing we rid ourselves of may be the very thing God wants to use to build us up. We are to be so careful of our deeds and words for we can dry up spiritually and still operate in the natural; we are not dead but yet we are.
