The Possessor of Heaven and Earth

How do we think we are getting by? Church we are star struck. What does God say about us, our busy schedules, and our programming Him out? We are a Church of the World, a loose church. We have gone from God’s Word, His Ordinances and most of all we are losing our Salvation. We are so busy trying to perpetrate like we have it going on that we have forgotten our first call to being born again. Shamefully to say many have taken God’s glory. They take glory of man that should only be given to God. We can do nothing of our own self. Sadly we refuse to abstain from the intoxicating desire Satan have perpetrated in the earth, the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. This is beginning to sound like rebuke; well it is. Satan has sold us a wooden nickel that cannot be used for anything. In Matthew chapter four he tried to give Jesus a wooden nickel. When are we going to realize that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness there of. Satan has nothing to give us. All Satan has to offer the Christian is a lake that burns with fire and a wooden nickel


Both Melchizedek and Abram recognized God as “possessor of heaven and earth. Melchizedek was the King of Salem when Abram went to war to get his brother Lot back his captors. Genesis 14:19-22 and he blessed him and said Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth. And blessed be the most high; God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods thyself. And Abram said to the King of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the Lord, the most high; God, the possessor of heaven and earth, that I will not take from a thread even to a shoe latchet, and that I will not take anything that is thine, lest thou should say, I have made Abram rich.


What are we willing to give up or turn down for the Lord? The Church as man knows it today is in a mess. God is the beginning and there is no end to Him knowing who we are. The general population of mankind says we are of God, but what we do is contrary one to what God says in his Holy Word. Can we really endure the test of the time we live in? The day of Abram was so much to please God that after he had overtaken the enemy and pulled Lot up with him, he still had a test. The test was before the covenant. God made a covenant with Abram because of his devotion and trust he had in God. God promised Abram that the seed of an heir would come forth out of Abram’s own bowels. God told Abram that his seed will never be able to be numbered. And Abram believed God and God counted it to Abram for righteousness.


Melchizedek was only important here in that he is presented as a type of the priesthood of Christ, while Abram was a father of a multitude. Melchizedek, the mysterious king of Salem, blessed Abram and accepted from him an offering on his return from victory over raiders who had carried away Lot with his goods and family. Men don’t have this compassion for one another today. Sure they will come and preach to make some money just like the big business companies. This means of thinking is abominable to the Lord. We have more men proud in heart so that all of their worship to God is from a lying heart. We say we are making sacrifices for God, but are we? The hearts of man today is forward; petulant and obstinate. They have no compassion or understanding. They are insolent and rude in speech or behavior. They love with a reason, it is not genuine and it’s temporary. They love you today and tomorrow we find out that it was only a byword coming from the mouth but far from the heart. Not only that but they perversely adhere to an opinion, purpose, or course in spite of the reason, arguments, or persuasion. All of these negative things produce a spirit of stubbornness. We cannot be taught anything because we are fixed and unyielding to anything that will help us stay on course; no matter what the purpose is.

Man has determined that there is an unreasonable persistence for them to convert their lives to God. The answer most give is “I am alright with God or the man upstairs”. This is unacceptable and the Church has been commissioned to go and bring that same redemption to them as happened with them. The people in the world are really resistant to making the necessary changes that their soul may be saved. The people on the inside of Gods house also have that same set way about them. It’s hard to preach the Word to them when they are resistant in hearing it come forth. Many say Lord, Lord, but God is going to say “see ya would not want to be you” depart! In talking about Jesus, He was to be great in the sight of the Lord, and he shall drink neither wine or nor strong drink; and he shall be with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb. God, the people of God has also misused His Spirit. God is the possessor of heaven and earth. We were told in the Word the things we are to stay away from, refrain or abstain from. Throughout the Scriptures we find that evil is to be abstained from. It is plain but the Christian is taught also that the law of love demands that where injury to others is possible we must abstain from things even not wrong.

God is the possessor of heaven and earth. He put man on earth and it is he that allows the soul of man to come to heaven. God intended earth to be like heaven; never that earth would be as it is today; corrupt. The earth itself is not corrupt but the inhabitants. Solomon in Proverbs 6:16 said these six things do the Lord hate; yea seven are an abomination unto him; a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devise wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren. God knows this world is full of all these things. There is nothing wrong with the world per say, but the people in it. We have turned the things of God where even they are becoming abominable. We are full of idolatry. Everybody desires a large Cathedral, a beautiful edifice, fine homes, the best cars. And okay that’s fine but is God still reigning in our hearts? Is our motives and intent as they were in the beginning? Has the Church of Jesus Christ that lives on the inside of man become to big that God has been squeezed out? We have to ask ourselves if God is still the head of our lives or have we surpassed or gone beyond our means to be big? Souls are in trouble with God and its time to evaluate ourselves.

We have a responsibility to the call of God and his business is soul business. The Church is too competitive with big business. God didn’t say compete to modify the looks of the edifice, He said that he that win souls is wise. We are being wise in the wrong things. God did not say compete, he said deliver souls. We must be different, holy; as God is Holy. The Church and business also was to be that temple of the body of Christ. God breathe his Spirit in man, not a building. Now the prosperity of the Saints and greed has caused them to lose their diligence in doing business where their holy life is being put in question by the rest of the world. Why would we want to be saved when those that say they are saved, do more wrong than the world? Church we are under a fine tuned microscope. We can never forget that we have been called to holiness. It’s time to wake the inhabitants of the earth up; the people that is. Everything else in the earth willfully obeys God. He has given man dominion and they are trying to class themselves with the animals.
