I woke up this morning about 4:30 am. I lay there in the bed, wanting so badly to just rest and sleep. It just would not come. I think with all that has gone on in the last month, deaths and sickness, finances and the stress of everyday life, depression has tried to set in.

I started thinking about how negative I have been thinking. I just don’t feel like myself lately. Sickness takes a lot out of you, and when you are sick, you can’t do anything. I have been missing church too. When that happens, it’s like you are not getting your tank filled up with gas for a week. Try running on the E. You won’t get very far. We don’t just go to get filled up, although that’s great. We go to pour out our love and worship to God. Then, in return, He fills us up to make it through the week. My Tank is on E.

Even though I am reading and praying, it’s tough. I guess it’s one of those seasons where God is teaching me and showing me new things. So this morning, He was showing me my negativity. I prayed and ask God to forgive me. I prayed, “Change me Lord, Change me!” I begged him to let me be positive, have faith and believe without getting weary, I want to be happy and energetic and like I said, Positive. I know I don’t have to beg Him. But I did. I know that the change comes in me and my attitude! I have to let Him change me everyday to be more like Him. I don’t want to see life in a negative way.

I want to see the beautiful side of life. I talked to Him for a long time this morning and throughout the day, I saw the blessings that He was showing me. As I have said before, sometimes we have to seek out the beauty. That beauty comes through, seeking God. Beauty is all around us. It takes the change in us to see it. God is same, Yesterday, Today and Forever.

I have learned a lot through this season, two of the lessons are, it can always be worse and there are blessings in the sorrow. Also, how much I love my church. I need the worship, fellowship, encouragement of a church family, but most of all hearing the preached Word that goes deep down in my spirit. The best, is just being in the presence of the Lord.

I think there is a fine life between knowing when you are in trials, depression or a dark season. I want to always make the Lord proud with my thoughts and my words. In all I go through, I pray to seek out and speak positive of all things, knowing that negativity is not from above.

1 So brothers and sisters, since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to him, which is the spiritual way for you to worship. 2 Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.
