I woke up this morning determined to feel better and take in some more of the beautiful snow. I opened our curtains to look out on the ledge for the beautiful red bird. To my amazement, there were about 5 little birds all pecking around looking for some food. Jessie was at work and if he had left any, they had already eaten it. They were all over that ledge and around it. I wrapped myself up in a blanket and went and found the bird seed. As I opened the door, birds flew everywhere. I could not count them all. I went to the ledge and sprinkled most of the ledge with the bird seed and then came back inside, so they would come back. Now to sit and watch for them!

Again, I was taken back to that scripture in Matthew again. The little red bird had come and been fed by the heavenly father, (who used Jessie to put the seed out) but what is so wonderful, is the fact that more birds came with the little red bird. Not just a few birds, but a lot of birds.

Isn't that the way our spiritual life should be? The father feeds us, take cares of us and others see the life that we lead, because Christ gave His life for us. When we are so in love with Him, that we just can not hold it in, then, we bring others with us back to the father. He feeds us spiritually and physically. What a simple, but profound story to be learned by some beautiful little birds, if we will just take the time to watch and learn, then the Lord will show us great things, in many simple ways.

I must say while watching the birds before I put the food out, they were pecking and searching for the food. They were wildly hopping around from place to place with such expectancy and yet a hunger, looking frantically for the food. That also, is the people of this world, without Christ. They are searching for the food, the spiritual food that God has to give. We need to be dropping the seeds for the people who need Jesus. Every opportunity given to us! We have to strive to be like the little red bird that brought them to the ledge where the heavenly father was there waiting, to meet their need. The ultimate need is for Him. Then, will come the food, comfort, protection and all that comes along with a wonderful relationship with the almighty God! He will meet our needs. We do not have to worry! If He is feeding the birds and clothing the flowers, which is what His word says, then we are more valuable than they are.

Watch the birds, soak up the beauty of the flowers. Enjoy your loved ones. All the good things that God has given us. Let us not take them for granted. Let's slow down, enjoy them and let God show us and teach us the greatest lessons of life. In turn, our relationship with Him will grow and mature and He will receive the glory that He so deserves.

Matthew 6:26
26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Matthew 6:28
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

Luke 12:27
“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

One last thought! The color of the bird! RED! The same color as the blood of Christ that was shed for us. Just another little golden nugget from the Lord to be thought about! He is so awesome.
