Rescued

Psalm 40:2-3 “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the
miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God:
many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” (KJV)

If someone rescued you, from within a burning house,
Would you lift their name in praise, or be quiet as a mouse?
If someone paid the debt that you could never pay,
When you saw them on the street, would you go the other way?

If you know God’s Word at all, then I think you get my drift.
We are the recipients of God’s love and wondrous gift.
There is no greater love, than that of Christ for you.
He died for the whole world, not just a special few.

God’s judgment for man’s sin was filled up to the brim.
Then Christ, who knew no sin, had them all poured out on Him.
The suffering and the shame that Christ bore on the cross,
Was so we could be free from death and hell and loss.

Being rescued from a fire, far more than that my friend.
God has prepared for us, a new life that has no end.
A home where there’s no pain, no tears but only joy.
Away from sin and death, that Satan can’t destroy.

Knowing the price Christ paid, does that bring joy and praise?
From being mired in sin, to heaven’s endless days,
All yours through faith alone, by trusting in God’s Son.
Trust Jesus as your Savior, new life will have begun.
