Valentines and Wills
By Rev. Dean Beaty 1/14/11
Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the
children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with
Christ if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” (KJV)

Have you receive a valentine but to read it you’ve refused?
At the reading of a will would you ask to be excused?
Dose your Bible lie unread midst the dust upon a shelf?
Do you miss its daily blessing for your family and yourself?

Love letters from the creator to you my friend are sent.
Mercy, grace, with love and more are the Bible’s main intent.
Inheritance from God’s own Son is just waiting to be read.
Its reality is proven by Christ’s rising from the dead.

But if you don’t believe it, then of course, why should you read?
God’s wisdom and His guidance, all these truths you would not heed.
God’s Word is more than history. There the future is foretold.
But you will never know it if its leaves are growing mold.

In John’s gospel you will find that there is no greater love. *
The sacrifice Christ made for you is what I’m speaking of.
Love letters from our Savior. To read it have you refused?
From Christ’s will and testament, have you asked to be excused?

* John 15:12-14 “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have
loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life
for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” (KJV)
