Birthdays are Never Late

Philippians 1:17 “For I am in a strait betwixt two, having
a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.” (KJV)

Birthdays are not ever late,
So here I am at sixty-eight.
I never thought I’d have this fate.
Instead I’d be at heaven’s gate.

Not by death was my intent.
But by that blessed next event.
The rapture is what I have meant.
Like Paul, down here I’m discontent.

But I still may hear His call
When with the Lord I’ll leave it all.
Though ravished by ole Adam’s fall,
I’ll go through an overhaul.

By faith in Christ I’ll enter in.
For He has paid the debt of sin.
By His Spirit who lives within,
New life with Him I will begin.

Do you also for Him wait?
If not, my friend it’s not too late
That Christ can save there’s no debate.
Trust Him now, don’t hesitate.

Revelation 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come.
And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst
come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (KJV)
