For Sinners Only

Romans 5:6-8 “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died
for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for
a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (KJV)

Christ did not die for good men. The Bible says there's none.
For self-righteous pharisees God would not give His Son.
Christ did not die for rich men who live for wealth and power.
But only for lost sinners would He face that horrid hour.

Christ blood was shed for people, held tight in Satan's grip.
Only for lost sinners would He bear the cruel whip.
It was for lost sinners Christ agonized in prayer.
Only for lost sinners, His flesh the nails would tear.

'Twas to a dying sinner, with words clear and precise.
“Today you shall be with me in heaven's paradise.”
Only for lost sinners Christ died upon the cross.
Only for lost sinners He suffered shame and loss.

So, where does that leave us, who need God's saving Grace?
There's the question of our sin. This fact we all must face.
If only for lost sinners, Christ died to take their place,
I gladly take the title of “Sinner Saved By Grace.”
