It's not enough for me to tell you
all I know that's from the Bible.
There's something here, equally true:
I'm far from being your spiritual rival.
So let me not just share the gospel.
let me give you all my life.
Just like you, my flesh is hostile.
Just like you, I have my strife.

Come and see this open book,
with heart of words that you read.
I'm not afraid to let you look
for you all are dear to me.
Don't you see you are my longing?
I dare not fail in saying this.
Our Father gave us. We're belonging.
Holy blood paid for this bliss.

I will tell you what I know.
Then I'll show you what I feel.
One word will make your heart glow.
One act will tell you I am real.
To do any less is born of pride,
to hide the rest that I am.
Just like Adam, I can't hide.
There's no shame in this man.

A heart that loves won't hide itself.
It must be as it was made.
For it believes the Lord who helped
this heart o' fault that He has saved.

My mouth speaks my heart's abundance,
for it's the source of who I am.
I'll obey from repentence
that as taught by the Son of Man.
