James 1:4 AMP
But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.

In football there are always more linemen than quarterbacks or receivers. A lineman’s job is to protect the quarterback from getting tackled from the opposing team. To be a lineman you must be strong and powerful. They must firmly fix their feet into the ground and not be moved.

For us in this life we must do the same. We must be steadfast in our faith (belief) in Jesus. Being steadfast means to be firmly fixed in place: IMMOVABLE or not subject to change. But why must we be steadfast in our faith in Jesus? I never thought you would ask. Here’s why: Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33 AMP) We are going to have trouble in this world but the bible says that this trouble will make us stronger and more steadfast. (James 1:3 AMP)

So let’s go over the game plan.
1. We will have trouble in this world
2. The trouble will make us steadfast in our faith in Jesus
3. Don’t worry because Jesus overcame the world

Remember that we must play in the game of life but because Jesus is on our team, we already won.
