A Dead Dream

Why do dreams die? Is it that we do not hold on to them? Is it that we do not work the dream? Or do we lose out because we go ahead of God to get the job done? Maybe we use techniques God didn’t ordain.

Mark 11:7-9; and He taught saying unto them, is it not written, my house shall be called of all nations the House of Prayer? But ye have made it a den of thieves. And the Scribes and Chief Priest heard it and sought how they might destroy him; for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine. And when even was come, he went out of the city.

Jesus mission on the earth was to clean up what Satan had created in the earth. His dream was to restore again the once pure creations of God. The people had a dream that the Messiah would come. They had envisioned how he would come. They did not think he would make His entrance riding on a colt. But after his disciples had did what He told them in securing the colt, Jesus sat on it and rode into Jerusalem. The people spread their cloaks on the road and other branches shouting before him and after him Hosanna, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Blessed is the coming kingdom of our Father David. Hosanna in the Highest. Jesus came and not as they had expected so they assumed their dream for a messiah was a dead dream. They had girded up the loins of their minds, were sober, and had hopes to the end for the grace that is to be brought to them at the revelation of Jesus Christ. They thought to themselves, this is only Jesus, Joseph the Carpenter’s son.

They failed to see the holiness of Jesus, His obedient nature and his conversation was holy in every manner. Jesus had not respecter of persons for his followers was of all races. Jesus also promised the people redemption but not of the usual sacrifices of silver and gold. The dream was filled with incorruptible things that had no value with man but God. Through the precious blood of Jesus Christ the dream of redemption would come alive. It brought forth a lamb without spot or blemish by one that was foreordained before the foundation of the world but now revealed. Jesus came and formed His Bride in the earth. Because of man the dream once alive and vibrant to the life of man through malice, guile, hypocrites, envy and evil speaking has brought shame to the name of Christ.

The dream of babies being born has been abused by man. They no longer seek after souls. They sat in their ceiled houses and count their blessings. No new born babies is there to bring life to the ministry so they sat down and figure out how to get finances rather than souls. Their desires smother the dream. The church is in constant need of new born Christians that will desire the sincere milk of the Word that the church will grow. We are to raise these new saints up that they may taste of the goodness and grace of God. These new creatures or people of God should be the lost that has been sought after, not just the good set that has never had a problem. God chooses people that have been disallowed of man but is precious to Him. They are become the living stones that brings new life to a dead dream. Lively stones will build up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood through the offering up of spiritual sacrifices. New blood in the church stirs up dead dreams. It’s like a blood transfusion in a body. The new blood brings to the body what it needs to continually function. New life brings forth joy, rejuvenation, a renewed religious interest. After a sinner has given their life to the Lord even the Angels in heaven rejoice that one soul is saved. There is such joy, such delight, sweet expression of joy and a revival started. There is a renewed attention to a greater interest in their creator’s heart. In the life of old saints a new soul is a very emotional evangelistic experience that returns to them a consciousness of why they are saved. It makes them happy and active again. This new life makes one flourish again with a new desire to reach yet another soul.

A new life in Christ brings vitality to an old dead dream. The chronic rheumatoid arthritics looses from the body as a new shout comes forth. The old hands that had forgotten to clap in a while have been revitalized. They have new life or vigor to return to the dance floor or the altar. They feel young or youthful again. Their dead dream is restored to an original or new state. A new soul added in the kingdom stimulates dead dreams and uplift the dreamer. When they reflect back on their own day of repentance when the light comes on and God gave them a dream the light comes on again and the sound waves of the Spirit flood their hearts again. They visualize themselves in the mirror again and the image is one of renewed hope. The effect produced by one repentant soul produces such an awesome effect it should be a constant instance of the heart of the church weekly. Don’t let your dream die, why sit ye here and die?
