But When
Compulsions, When It’s all Said and Done

When it’s all said and done were your compulsions worth it? Was the compulsion worth the trip? Was what came next was what you expected?

II Chronicles 15:1-4; and the Spirit of God came upon Azuiriah the son of Oded and he went out to meet Asa and said unto him, hear ye me Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; the Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching Priest, and without law. But when they in their trouble did turn unto the Lord God of Israel and sought Him, He was found of them.

But when it’s all said and done was that irresistible impulse to perform that irrational act worth it? A compulsion is an act that compels by force or demands one to do something by an urgency that can’t be resisted. This urging is driven by a force within that will not be denied. This urging is like some kind of drug taking full control of the mind and presents, advocates or demand pressingly of the body its desires. It takes much energy, swiftness and enthusiasm. The desire for it attacks its victim with the reason for needing it and it moves into motion to accomplish its intents. It stimulates itself through excitement that arouses itself in the blood flow. A drug is a stimulant that affects the physiological stimulus functions. It provokes one to action, calling forth the desire the body wants. It arouses the flesh man to react, stirring up purposely what should be dead to provide that needed stimulus to provoke the person to action. Drugs can and does cause one to direct all of their attention to the want rather than need. The house note could be due and need to be paid but all the attention calls for the excitement of the body being fulfilled. The stirring overwhelms reasoning. The person is so irritated and challenged by the flesh they yield to what’s bad rather than good. After we have been provoked within ourselves to do wrong we are full of anger that we gave in to our urging.

But on the spiritual side of life we are urged to have a continual impulse to do that which is right in the sight of God. God calls and solicits Christians to serve Him with the same urging or more that we did in the world. We have to insist with the same force and impulse that impels and constrains us to undertake and accomplish all we do for God with swiftness and enthusiasm. Our motives and intent for doing the work of God must be pure. We are to compel sinners to go in the same directions toward God with the same vigor. The Spirit of God must move on us as it did with Asariah. The Spirit compels us to move when God prompts it to. Many Christians walk without God’s Spirit. They have a fleshly compulsion to just go in God’s name but without His Spirit. God’s Spirit has departed them because they try to walk out a calling in their lives that’s not ordained of God. They take on things that they were not built for. If you are called an Evangelist it does not mean you are a Pastor. Check your stand and what you are really standing for. When a man or woman take on an office they have not been called to they go on in error and all of their failures is someone else’s fault all the time. The will lie, connive and deceive. They will build themselves up and lie in the same breath on someone else to tear them down, not realizing that they can’t hurt that person because it’s God in them that they come against. Every disaster in someone’s life they cause they say it’ God, when it is not God but their own pride and self righteousness. They never take responsibility for their actions. They opened themselves up to a disaster waiting to happen.

The Lord is with those that are his but is against them that are against his children. God will not withhold good from them. He will make his own children whole again, but will destroy the abusive one that has afflicted pain to his own. God hear the righteous cry but he despises the evil of the wicked. The wicked must forsake his ways to become the child of God they should be. God wants us to be white as snow. He wants us to be truthful, speak in time and on time, lifting him and not ourselves. He does not want our words to be idle foolishness, but filled with love and passion. We should desire to be wise in the things of God for it helps us to hear the wise counsel of God. We should desire the sincere milk of the Word for the Word is quick and powerful; sharper than a two-edged sword. The Word is life and we are to obey all of the Word, this makes one wise. We are to declare heaven the glory due God. Why would one act compulsive and defile themselves? The words they received into their mouth defiled them. They desire pride more than God. They desire spiritual gifts that they want to use for their own glory. Their petitions and prayer to God is always for things to the building up of their own selves, drawing people to them rather than the Father God. Their want of natural things make them feel important and it’s stuff that they can brag on that do not mean a hill of beans to God because of the spirit in which they did the work. Men desires and deeds are evil. They are constantly and consistently not doing what God say but what another man or woman thinks. Many have missed God in this way; my husband think or my wife think or my friends say. God speaks to man and he verifies with another human to get confirmation of what God has spoken to them to do. They cannot rightly divide the Word or Spirit of God and what He is speaking to them because they don’t want to make their other half mad. They acquire a spirit of disobedience and behave themselves disorderly. Things in their lives are always dying at the altar. It’s always according to the deeds and purposes of the heart. There is no relief from the afflictions. When it’s all said and done their own compulsions to act caused their downfall and not another person.
