“Lord you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” (Psalms 16:5)

I often wonder what is my lot in God? Maybe I like other’s more than mine. You know, kids always see others have more candy than them and think others candies are sweeter.

“The Lord has assigned me my portion”. I have a portion in God. In God there is a place for me, just for me and He secures that lot for me. That is my inheritance.

“For the Lord's portion is His people; Jacob (Israel) is the lot of His inheritance.”(Deuteronomy 32:9)

How wonderful to think that we, His people, are his inheritance. Each one of us has a portion in Him. It is not outside of God, but in Him.

When I only had one child, I have given all my love to this child and worried how much love would I have left for my second baby. Then I discovered that my love expanded once my second baby was in my arms. Today I have 3 children and love them equally with all my heart.

God’s love capacity is beyond measures—unlimited. God is so big that the whole universe is still a small part of Him. The portion I have is a WHOLE to me. It will be so big, so rich, and so overwhelming that I will cry out with exclamation, “I love my inheritance”!

Let’s work hard to take possession – love, kindness, hope, faith, long suffering, joy, peace, wisdom, etc.

Let’s keep seeking God, finding God, finding our destiny, and security in Him!

O Lord, “you have made known to me the path of life (Jesus); you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
