I am no Steven James.
with his storytelling spirit;
I simply listen to God's Voice
and repeat Him as I hear it.

I'm no Shannon Kubiak,
I've no will to tell her story;
I offer only what I have
to be used for my Savior's glory.

I'm no M. L. Tyndall
though I dream of pirates and romance;
I simply long to tell my stories
and teach others how to dance.

I'm no Randy Singer
with his mystery and suspense;
I tell a different story
that would ask you to repent.

I'm no Dannah Gresh
with her stand on purity;
I take a different person's life
and instill the heart of me.

I'm no Christopher Hopper
with his fantastical insights;
I'm a girl whose heart is touched
and so she simply writes.

I don't dream of being any of those
whose writing I admire;
God has simply used their dreams
to set my heart afire.

My dream is far greater than becoming
one of those I have just named;
If I settled for anything less than that dream
I would surely be ashamed.

For there is only one writer
whom I aspire to be
and that is Rebekah Snyder -
the writer God made me.
