The rain beats down on my windshield -
A sure sign that heaven is crying -
Because somewhere in the world
A young mother lies dying.

Somewhere in the world,
A little girl fights back tears
As she watches her mommy suffer
And she faces her biggest fears.

Somewhere in the world
For reasons I don't understand,
A girl sobs, "Mommy, please don't go,"
As she clings to a pale, limp hand.

Somewhere in the world -
Though most remain unaware -
A little girl is screaming
That her life is so unfair.

Somewhere in the world -
Though most don't see her pain -
That tiny child is praying
But her prayers will be in vain.

And though I cannot hear her,
I am certain of her cries...
And while the world spins on in silence
Her cherished mother dies.
