I paint a smile on my face
To hide the fact I'm dying.
And so I go about my day
Building others up while falling apart
On the inside.
Still my heart is longing for just a glimpse
Of You.
But after a night of endless trying
I still feel far away.
I bid farewell and turn to leave;
That's when I see You standing there -
Arms outstretched, wide open.
I fall into Your warm embrace,
Soaking in Your Presence.
There's something righted in my soul
For You are there to hold me.
When I open my eyes, I can see it isn't You,
But Jared.
Yet my heart still dances with the
Song of my Savior
And I realize...
Perhaps it really was You after all.
