Encouragement
This evening on my return from work, I was browsing through a precious box handed over to me by my Mother during my visit to her a few months ago. This box contained treasured letters written by my late father, my parents wedding card and album, my childhood snaps along with those of my siblings and grand-parents, song books, prayers and a diary maintained by my mother in which she had kept note of important dates of all our achievements. This is indeed a legacy for me which I shall guard carefully with all my heart because I know these are the very same things which will give me a lot of comfort as the years progress.
Truly, a Mother models herself in the footsteps of Our Blessed Mother in all virtues.
She is God’s most precious gift to mankind, a special angel from above with a divine love.
Her children are her prized possessions. She adores them and her caring, soft, loving nature is what gives her children the warm feeling of security. She is there at her children’s side whenever they need her. Her love shines as brightly as the morning star to illuminate her home.
There are times when she will be hurt the most by her children’s indifference and yet, she is brave enough to put up a courageous front and silently bears all trials and tribulations.
A Mother is the only person who has the inner strength to endure not only the physical pains of childbirth, but, also the rejection that comes from her own children. She accepts them with their faults and shortcomings.
Her gentle arms give them comfort and reassurance when the path is dark and the storm is great. She trains her children to face the world bravely with courage and her guidance and support are of great value. She conditions the mind and hearts of her children to take refuge in the Almighty at all times.
She endures all hardships and sufferings for the sake of her family, Even in times of frustration, doubts and despair, she holds her head high to give her children the much needed strength and confidence. She gives the best to her children and that is her whole life dedicated to them, with an unconditional love, expecting nothing in return. She provides the much needed stability in the family, making home a warm place.
Much of what her children become in life is due to her sacrifices.
It is her prayers that sustains them through the worst moments of their life and helps them to achieve the success that their heart desires. Her lessons on life should be well remembered. She passes on her ideas and values to her children to help them move forward in life and gives them strength to face the future and lead life in a positive direction.
She is the special shoulder on which her children can cry on, their best friend.
Miles cannot separate the closeness of hearts. A Mother walks with her children as a living presence even when she is far away from them.
A Mother is her children’s first home, the place from where they come from, their first love, even before they saw the light of the world.
Their heartbeats are entwined with hers right from the womb. This is a special bond which cannot be broken.
Sometimes, words are not always necessary in a relationship, because the underlying meaning is always there. However at other times, actions can speak louder than words.
So let us take the time to show our Mother how much we really care and treasure her. Let us appreciate her love, kindness and sacrifice.
If we look beyond her weary eyes, we will see the constant and never ending love which she has for her children, even when they have failed her as she keeps no account of all the hurts inflicted on her.
Let us express our sincere love and gratitude to our Mother. After all, we are a part of her.
I would like to share a beautiful and touching verse which I came across recently. This also applies to all other relationships in life.
"If you are ever going to love
Love me now while I can know
The sweet and tender feelings
Which from true affection flow.
Love me now while I am living
Do not wait until I am gone
And then have it chiseled in marble
Sweet words on ice cold stone.
If you have tender thoughts of me
Please tell me now
If you wait until I am sleeping
There will be death between us
And I won’t hear you then.
So if you love me, even a little bit
Let me know while I am living
So that I can treasure it."
Remember, "The Hand that Rocks The Cradle Rules The World."
