Stalwart, stout and fully inured.
Framed, redone, not easily injured.
Skin of a rhino, mouth like a lion.
Conviction his mark from the King of Zion.
He hides his feelings under his mission.
Higher things are held, his good decision.
His mind is God’s crock pot, simmering with truth.
He speaks and we’re caught. Grace is the proof.
He should be known for more than his food.
Blessed by the Lord, as He only could.

For John C. A dear brother and friend, who is also an amazing cook. He was in charge of the cooking at our singles' retreat and sustained a pretty bad third-degree burn, but he continued to be faithful to his self-prescribed duties once he was cared for.

He seems impervious to comments that are less than gentle, they simply roll off him. I admire that.

He seems to have the gift of exhortation. When he talks that way he's hard to ignore, easy for us to feel blessedly convicted.

I understand that his birthday is Mar. 10th. I did not find out until I had finished this.

Happy birthday, John!
