I constantly run in circles reliving all the painful memories of my past. I'm one of those people who it takes a while to move on from something painful. It doesn't help that the World is always whispering in my ear all the things that hurt me, so then it lingers in my head. Telling me I'm a bad friend, a bad boyfriend, a bad son, a bad brother all these things....and yet I believed what the World was telling to me. It made sense after all I am bad at all those. I left my apartment to go find my friends for some comfort, because I really can't do this on my own anymore. The sun was setting leaving a red amber light glowing on the city. I stopped and looked at the first alley, but nothing was there. I continued down the street to find my friend Ashley. I saw her coming out of her apartment, I ran over to her.
"Ashley!" I yelled smiling.
She didn't look at me, she just walked down the stairs and to the crosswalk.
"Ashley! Hey! Whats up?" I yelled again following her across the street.
Ashley stopped in the middle of the crosswalk, and didn't move. I went in front of her, and stared in her eyes. She had a look of fear on her face, and she was frozen. I kept running down the street, to find my friend Travis. I looked up and saw the birds frozen in one part of the amber lit sky. I saw Travis getting into his car.
"Travis! Travis! Something weird is happening." I yelled reaching his car.
He just kept getting in, he didn't even look at me. He drove a couple feet and stopped.
"I knew he wouldn't forget me." I said in relief.
I went over to the driver side, and looked in. I backed away from the car as I saw the same frozen fear on his face that I saw on Ashley. A breeze hit the back of my head, I slowly turned and stared at the dark alley.
"What evil is it going to be today?" I asked myself.
A man stumbled out of the alley dropping a liquor bottle, right then I knew that it was my mirror image, of what I don't want to be.
"Oh man its...its realy brite out her." He said stumbling on his words.
I began to cry I was so mad.
"Why? Why! Why do you have to keep showing up and making my life miserable! Can't you just leave me alone?" I said my tears now turning black.
He looked up at me and smiled.
"I'm never going to leave you alone....well until you die anyway." He said laughing.
I looked over at Travis, and then stared back at the disgusting thing that stood before me.
"Okay Jontae i'm just going to tell you without playing my little game." He said reaching for another liquor bottle.
"Good! Then maybe after, you can just disappear forever!" I yelled at him.
"Jontae...do you think your friends actually like you? I mean really? just ask yourself that." He asked.
"Of course they do that's a stupid question." I fired back.
He shook his head.
"See you didn't think you just said what you wanted to hear. But the truth is that, your a a fourth wheel on a two wheel bike, you nothing more than a piece of dust that they feel sorry for so they acknowledge your existence for an hour. As for your girlfriend, its the same." He explained to me.
What he said hit home, he's been right every time we met...why would he be lying to me now? Something behind him caught my eye. I peeked over, and saw a man dressed in white shaking his head.
"Don't believe anything this liar says. Your friends love you, and they always will. Ask yourself this, if what he is saying is true, why would they put up with you for 16 years? Why would they all use fake smiles, and have fake joy around you for 16 years? They ask you to hang with them everyday...Jontae don't listen to the lies of the World." He said smiling.
I looked over at Travis as he was getting out of his car.
"Jontae why weren't you answering you phone? Do you want to hang out with Ashley and I?" He asked.
A big smile went on my face, and my heart didn't feel so heavy. I looked up at the World.
"You tried to make me walk the road that left would of left me hollow. Nice try" I said bumping shoulders as I walked past him.

I am so blessed with amazing friends and family in my life that i know will be here to comfort me and support me I just want to say thank you for being my friends and my family :)
