The lights go out, only a candle is burning in front of me in my small apartment. These last couple of weeks have been really hard on me, I'm emotionally, Mentally, Spiritually, Physically drained. So many things happening at once, its just way too much. Close friends hurting me, terrible phone calls with various family members trying to help me, but I shut the door on them each time. I feel so weighed down. I reach up to my face and start to peel. The mask comes off, and I look at the forehead, in bold letters it says "Prideful" I throw it on the ground, and reach up and remove the next mask, and the one after reading all the descriptions on them. "Hateful, Jerk, Pretender...." A lot of weight had been lifted off, but i still felt really bad. I honestly don't know what to do next, I'm so exhausted I can't deal with anymore hurt or confusion. My candle light started to flicker as I watched the Sun set behind the big city buildings. I looked behind me, and only saw darkness...nothing else. I turned back around, and just stared out the window. I began to hear whispers from behind me. I didn't turn around to look. The whispers began to speak about my hard times recently like it was a funny thing to talk about. Each word that was spoken, clung onto me and didn't leave. My heart got heavier, and I began to cry. I cried the same Black tears I cried along time ago when the World had me in its burnt hand telling me to do what it wanted. Memories of some of my close friends flashed through my head, and the tears didn't stop pouring out. "Whats the matter? Don't you like remembering times you had fun with the people who hurt you? Wishing you could go back and change what happened so everything will be okay?" A voice said behind me. I felt something touch my shoulder. I looked to see the Worlds nasty burnt hand holding a mask.
"I know you love wearing my "Pretend" mask, so that nobody will know how much hurt your drowning in." The World said dropping the mask into my lap.
"The only happiness you deserve is the fake one that you use everyday, that brings a smile to my burnt lips." The Worlds voice echoed.
"Take it all away...Take it all away! TAKE IT ALL AWAY!" I screamed.
The Candle in front of me got brighter. The whispers stopped, I picked up the mask and looked at it. "Pretend Happiness" I dropped it and my hands started to shake.
"I'm breaking I can't do this on my own.....Can you hear me screaming out.....Am I all alone?" I softly said.
The candle again got brighter, and I felt a hand on my shoulder, I looked behind me to see a man in white...A smile went onto my face as he wiped my black tears from my face.
"Your never alone." He said with a big smile.
