The sun is setting behind the buildings. The street lights are slowly turning on. I walk down the middle of the empty street, having only one thing on my mind.....sleep. Something catches my eye, I turn towards an alleyway and see the Worlds nasty burnt hand signaling me to come towards it. I shake my head and turn away....again something catches my eye. I turn towards the alleyway again...and see a hot girl standing in front of the alleyway, wanting me to come over to her. My heart beats faster and faster, my palms get sweaty, but my legs wont move. She gives me a wink, then she turns and enters the darkness of the alleyway. I feel a hand touch my shoulder....I look too see the Worlds nasty burnt hand reaching me from the shadows behind me. The World begins to whisper in my ear.
"Whats the matter? You know you want her....all you have to do is go follow her...and then everything will be great. Isn't that how your dream girl looks? What are you waiting for?.... I look at my shoulder and see the Worlds hand was no longer there. I stare back at the alleyway....A gentle wind blows towards me from the alley. Something blows out of the alley and it stops at my feet. I pick it up, and look at what looks like to be a mask, a mask that looks just like me. On the forehead of the mask in big bold letters "Lust" is printed. I'm familiar with this mask, I've worn it several times. more than I would like too. I look back to the alley and see a man with a hood now standing there. His eyes glow a dim ruby red, as he takes small steps towards me. It seem like the sun was frozen in the spot where I first saw it leaving a very dim gloomy light over the city. As the man got closer, it was clear that it was a mirror image of me that i never wanted to be. He had a beer bottle in his pocket, a cigarette up on his ear...and nasty yellow blackish teeth.
"whats wrong with you? Why didnt you follow her! She's everything you dreamed of, and you just let her walk away!" He begins to circle me, I keep staring at the alley.
"You don't take any risks in life...i mean you wont smoke...you wont party...you want drink...and whats with not having sex until your married?! Your just a big baby is what you are! Just be more like me its a lot more fun and enjoyable." He says stopping right in front of me. I look up at him.
"My life's just fine the way it is, all those things are against what I believe."
Streams of black tears fall from his eyes, his face getting stone cold.
"Do you do everything you "God' wants you too?"
A smile goes on my face as I look into his red ruby eyes.
"I try my best too."
He steps back and shakes his head.
"You could be more if you just follow me."
"No... I would be in pain and miserable if I followed you. Please just leave me be.
He begins to enter the alley, but he turns too me.
"I'm not going away forever...I'll be there when your at your lowest point."
"Yeah...So will God."
I kept on walking towards my apartment. The sun finally setting.
