In the beginning there was peace, joy and harmony in all
the universe; that was all they knew - thankful obedience
to the ways of God, and it was very good

And Lucifer, the covering Cherub, said, “Why should Jehovah
get all the honor - am I not like the Most High?” He entertained
thoughts of jealousy, and it was a new idea.

So Lucifer began to introduce insinuations among the angels, questioning
God’s goodness and mercy. He suggested that Yahweh might be
selfish and controlling, and it was revolutionary.

New thoughts spread among the heavenly hosts and throughout the
created worlds as seeds of doubt and criticism were quietly
planted by the “Light-bearer,” and it was confusing.

In the happiness and contentment of heaven, no one had ever challenged the
Eternal One. His goodness was accepted and praised by all, but a new day
was dawning for the universe; it was a time of change.

The Universe had never heard lies or deception - the degeneration was
no doubt confusing as a new element entered creation -
that of Lucifer’s selfishness. It was perplexing.

Being so close to God, Lucifer no doubt claimed to have the inside view of
Jehovah’s character as he spread his rebellion to
every listening ear. It was deceiving.

Friends of millennia were split by conflicting loyalties, as some
believed the Omniscient One and others believed
the new views. It was a time of upheaval.

The campaign turned into open rebellion as Lucifer earnestly
pawned his lies. Now it was “God said / Lucifer said.”
They didn’t know what to do. It was a great controversy.

Jehovah had been patient, but eventually He had to take action
to preserve order. Reason and love had failed, God had
to expel the trouble makers. It was very sad.

“The knowledge of good and evil” was an unfortunate education as the universe
learned of envy, deception, anger and war. It was the
creation of degeneration - it was very bad.
