I didn’t believe it until I heard and saw it myself!
When it was practically thrown in my face, I started paying particular attention to this aspect of interaction, relations and communication between persons

I discovered that it actually is true that several people consciously or unconsciously (Some do consciously do so and this number is alarming) CHOOSE WHO TO BE NICE TO!

To get to the crux of this topic let us narrow the scope to the body of Christ.

“Within the body”, you say? It actually happens and often too!

Like every human societal setting and communal environment: segregation and caucus formations exist even within the body.

Shame isn’t it?

Even though this should definitely not be the ideal where we should be pace setters for the world in our actions, words and inactions, rather we have accepted and incorporated the opposite as the standard.

These choices vary for different reasons:

Some choose their ‘circle of friends’ based on mutual taste, class and desires.

Some because of WORLDLY gain, I.e. those who can benefit them in terms of position, material resources and connections within the Church and in the circular world too; in so doing they out rightly snub the rest of the brethren

Some others make their selection based on mind-set, those who would eventually belong to their limited defined number MUST reason as they do, whether right or wrong (Translating Biblical doctrines and text into outrageous interpretations in a zombie type manner).

Some choose to be nice to those that are physically attractive and popular (Even in the church?) and are always willing to offer their help to them in every way, whilst those genuinely needing help: comforters and providers (in worldly terms, I mean) continue to languish in pain and penury not getting any opportunity of solace from anyone in their CHURCH FAMILY!

‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous…’ this seems to be the life story of a great number of brethren from FELLOW BRETHREN not as much as they are oppressed and depressed by those in the secular world!

The RATRACE is incomparable to that which operates in the world outside the body!
Many, desperate for power, position and influence (Not even focused to Heaven!) to always be the one, they use every WEAPON at their disposal to crush and destroy those in their path like tempestuous cyclones or hurricanes leaving debris and destruction as an aftermath in their wake!

The structure and order that has crept in has made many devoid of sympathy and empathy but rather becoming selfish, distant and cold.

The word of God enjoins us to not give regard to the RICH above the POOR in the body but to love and provide for the poor, to love one another and support one another.
To weep with those who weep and rejoice whenever a member of the family is rejoicing

How can these happen according to the word and commandment s of the Lord when we refuse to interract, as we should in Him?

How can every genuine member feel a sense of belonging in an environment devoid of integrity and TRUE love?

Here is the moment of truth, let us individually do a reality check at this point.

Are you guilty? Do you choose whom to be nice to?
If yes! How do you evangelize to those who do not even believe?

Is this what Jesus did and meant when he said in the book of John that, BY THIS SHALL ALL MEN KNOW YOU WHEN YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

When you have love one for another, impartial, without any form of prejudice, bias or prejudgment, then shall all people call you blessed and want to know your God, have a relationship with Him and most importantly, they will want to BE IN YOUR MIDST as family members too!
