So small, so delicate, so vulnerable
Yet, in his tiny hand is the hope of tomorrow.

So needy, so innocent, so passionate
Yet in his piercing cry is the pain of our own past.

So helpless, so joyful, so full of wonder
Yet he reaches beyond today.

For it is in our power to shape tomorrow
By how we love him today.

We reach into the future and create heaven or hell
By our actions, either angelic or demonic.

Paradise is lost, but it can return
If we pass back the dysfunction instead of passing it on.

By honesty, healthy boundaries, expressing feelings, the right to be
A human being instead of a human doing with unconditional love.

In his eyes is the light of tomorrow if only we let it shine
The hopes and dreams of humanity.

Don't put it out.
Let there be light. We've got to let it shine.

Let him feel, let him experience, let him ask questions.
Be there for him. Life is so alive.

Let the child be a child. Don't manipulate him or be rigid, or
Force him to be someone he is not.

Nurture, love and cherish the boy God has created him to be.
Don't anesthetize his spirit, nourish it.

Arise, shine, for his light has come.
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon him.

The wisdom of yesterday, the dreams of today, and the hopes of tomorrow
All in his tiny hand. Or rather, all in our hands.
