This law within might lead to sin,
   if not for Your hand.
The pride and lies are no surprise.
You know where I stand.

This dry mud speck must keep in check
   the sparks and the flames.
Your holy water is what You offer,
   the Name above all names.

If not for You, I’d be through,
   and brought to my end.
But You speak, so I seek
   Your promise sent to mend.

I know You’re tracking while I’m lacking.
Look on me and see.
Realize the feat-my being complete.
The Truth is my key.

The fact I lack brings me back.
My need is my short leash.
I won’t go far toward the dark.
Conviction’s my reprieve.

So take me. I want to see
   You in me in You.
Life in Christ is my plea,
    living with the True.
