O Human that I am!

What if I fall will you lift me,
Or will you at me laugh?
Would you clothe me when naked
Or would you bring the cameras to film it?
Would you say it's my fault that I stumbled,
Or would you reach out and lift me up?

If I say I am gay
Would you scorn, mock, excommunicate and disown me,
Or would you still love me and treat me as God's creature?
If out of wedlock, a child I make,
Would you castigate me and stigmatise the child?
Or would you understand my deepest needs and attend to them?

If I fall would you be there to lift me?
Or like others, would you step on me
Just to prove your superiority?

Would you speak words of Love
And do acts of Love?
Would you like the father...
Open wide your arms and receive me
IF AT ANY TIME I FALL?
