Only recently have I come to know the power of hope. I believe hope is misunderstood and highly underestimated. But when you come to the point where all you have is hope, you have entered into a place of empowerment. Hope has the power to change the course of events, to change the course of history, to change the course of life.
What makes hope effective is by holding on to it: Its better to be hopeful than hopeless. As sure as the sun will rise and a new day begins, there is hope. As long as there is life and breath within you, there is hope. The eternal promise of a God who loves you, guarantees hope. "Weeping may endure through the night, but joy comes in the morning."
How many dreams and loves have been lost for lack of hope. If more people would just realize how powerful hope is, they might keep holding on. Hope will sustain you until the desired outcome takes place. But hope requires that one element that we seem to run short of and that is patience. One must be willing to wait upon the Lord's timing. When faith is shaken, hope steps in like a bridge over troubled waters.
You might say that hope turns waiting into a labor of love. Hope gives you the ability to envision things happening. Allowing hope to live and grow in your heart makes each day brighter as you wait. Hope against all odds is especially nice to anticipate. It can be a miracle waiting to happen.
It was against all odds for Daniel to even hope that he would live to see another day after being thrown into the lion's den. But Daniel's hope went a step further to an unshakable faith in the God he knew to be all-powerful. After all, his friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had survived a burning furnace.
The Lord is faithful to the faithful. Remain hopeful and faithful and you will see the power of God moving in your life to grant your heart's desires. Endeavor to hold on to your hopes for life and be ready to embrace them when they start happening, because there truly is power in hope!
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things HOPED for, the evidence of things not seen". KJV
