The kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But, while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, the weeds also appeared. The owner's servants came to him and said, Sir, didn't you sow good seeds in your field? Where then did, the weeds come from? 'An enemy did this', he replied. ~ 13:24-28
The rest of it goes as the servants asked if they should pull out the weeds, but the master said do not because you might pull the wheat out as well, instead wait for the harvest and then separate. We all began in the image of the Everlasting Father and, because love is given freely and does not control, but allows one to learn from experience, God allowed us to make choices and down what path we want to go. Some were predestined and grow on the Narrow path that leads to life, while others choose the broad highway--the way that screams death and is littered with wickedness. The ones who travel this way are ones who either can't hear the screams or ones that choose not to listen to them. They are like the ones who are devoured by satan, the seeds that are choked out by worldly matters, even ones who are driven away by fear of persecution. They become weeds, while the inheriters of the new earth are wheat. At the resurrection, the angels will separate the good crops from the bad--one to eternal punishment, the other to eternal life.
