There is an amazing power that I had never believed in before....the power of forgiveness. I used to hate the word because I associated it with being weak and letting people walk all over you. That was before God allowed me to see the truth and let me tell you, God's truths are sooooooo much different than the world's 'artificial' truths. God showed me that I wasn't protecting myself from being 'weak' when I wasn't forgiving, that was a dark veil that Satan's lie had placed over my eyes; instead, by not forgiving I was actually making myself that 'weak' person that I was trying to avoid in the first place.

After being in a 'desert wander' for a few years, I thought the door to loving [inside] was beginning to close. Though, my enduring hope and one moment helped God grab the edge of the door and just throw it back open! He had been waiting there all along, 'saying I'm always here, my love!' After that, he began revealing to me many falasies that had engulfed the 'old'. ONe of the first truths he revealed and wanted me to learn was that forgiveness is a good thing because it doesn't hurt me and he has called us to forgive.

You see, when we don't forgive, we are not able to move towards being Christ-like and it also opens the way for resentment.......resentment is anger, anger leads to hate and to no trust; it creates a chain of feelings that tie one down from moving towards the Lord. Before God spoke truth about this, I hadn't realized that I was allowing these dark feelings to flow inside because of people that I chose not to forgive. My dad, especially, caused the majority of my resentment.....I had hungered for some of his time, I hated that he lied to me all the time to the point where I stopped trusting him, as well as all the things he said he would do and never did. No one had ever hurt me more than my dad had and I was holding on.....it kept me so weighed down. But, God helped me forgive him and WOW! I gave it to the Lord and he Broke those chains into nothing but links on the ground and my dad and the others I hadn't been able to forgive couldn't hurt me anymore! I tasted some genuine freedom there.......I felt so light; that is the POWER of forgiveness in GOD's truth!

You have captured the dynamic of forgiveness! What a wonderful truth that, as you wrote, "breaks the chain" and frees you from Satan's power!

The reader can sense your joy and exuberance in this writing.

Some tips in review: An ellipsis(...) uses three periods. Enclose quotes with (") marks instead of an apostrophe ('). Triple check for typos, misspelling, & correct grammar.

God's blessings.
