Adoption is starting a new life, a new family, a new house -- It is being wiped clean of old routines. In our days of distruction, we were sons and daughters of Satan. 'This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.' (1 John 3:10) This father encouraged us in evil; to drown in our desires and be sold to temptation, in which only one who is very uncaring could support such deeds and behavior. Instead, a loving father will discipline so that his child may grow and move beyond the original heights to greater ones. Like when a child is in an abusive home and it is discovered, they are taken from that corruption. So is it with the LOving Father, God, who by his grace, adopts us so that we may have the chance to be given a new life. When we are right, he smiles on us- when we are wrong, he disciplines us so we may learn from our mistakes so we can better strive in spirit towards the goal of perfection in Christ. By his will, he has taken his chosen ones from the old and adopted us into his family, where we may learn love and have an unimaginable new beginning and purpose!
