I’m not sure if I’ve ever caught any. Whenever I need to catch thoughts, I just “go fishing”.
I go to a private fishing spot...into the depths of my mind and spirit.
Since I am a writer, I fish there often. I know the best fish for me are already swimming there, thoughts waiting to be caught. Yet many are illusive, hiding under the brush. A few are camoflauged.
I use a net to trap some thoughts, such as memories. With others, it takes the finest casting rod and reel that I mentally own.
As I cast my rod, and slowly reel the line in, I usually get results, but not necessarily the desired results. My bait is wrong or I’m trying too hard. Self tends to get in the way of fishing in the right location.
Occasionally my hook snags a negative thought. It’s difficult to unhook, definitely not a keeper.
But...when I am accompanied by Prayer, with the Word attached to my hook , my fishing efforts improve. When the Holy Spirit becomes the power behind my cast, my catch is right, abundant, and beyond self or negativity.
The deeper the Holy Spirit leads me to fish, the bigger and better the catch. Organized thoughts, and truth, are revealed for me to write and to share. The more I write and share, the more He provides. This is the best fishing experience ever!
I love to go fishing with Prayer, the Word, and the Holy Spirit!
Who do you like to go fishing with?
Luke 5
4. Now when he(Jesus) had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5.And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing; nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6.And when they had done this, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes, and their net brake.(KJV)
