to study the book of Revelations. I say ’reluctantly” because
I’ve always avoided this book. Just the mention of the name
Revelations sent dreads of fear stinging through my body.
The leader of the study is an awesome teacher. She makes
this class exciting. It is a book of hope filled with promises
from God, not a book of dreads and fears that I’ve always
thought it to be. The threatening danger in Revelations, and
the Bible as a whole, is for those who turn their back on Jesus,
and who will continue to turn their back on Him. Jesus desires
all of us to obey Him and spend eternity with Him on high.
One of the verses I’ve found during this study is, Psalms
18:19. “He brought me forth also into a large place; He
delivered me because He delighted in me.” Jesus delights in
those who have and share a daily relationship with Him. He
alone delivers us from our temptations, trials, and troubles and
is our support system as He brings us through them. How awesome
is that? Jesus delights in me, and Jesus delights in you. He
made us a little lower than His angels and removes all our
fears. We walk with Him in confidence because He wipes away our
fears
This study has totally changed my life. As I said earlier,
it is exciting and comforting to me. Hope for all mankind is
revealed to John, and John shares with each reader that views
his words in this important book with symbolism that never
leaves one confused about his message. Judges of contests would
never critique John’s works like they do mine...you need to
SHOW, not TELL. But then John’s research lab is from the elite,
the best material searched for.
We are told in Psalms 111:10, “The fear of the Lord is the
beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do
His commandments; His praise endureth for ever.” In fearing
God, The Master, Our Savior, we become mature in our faith and
wise. And not wisdom by the world’s standards of accumulating
academic knowledge and experiences, but wise and schooled in
God’s word. His word enables us to make wise decisions and
Godly choices.
Maturing our faith is a life long journey. It helps us
live in confidence in Christ and eliminates all our fears. How
awesome is that?
