Labor. The pain starts. Sharp. Quick. Excruciating. The pain brings a friend along. Pressure. The day has come. A baby is being born.

You’ve spent a lot of time preparing for the birth of this child. The moment you found out you were going to become a parent, you began making plans. You nurtured the life growing on the inside of you, and you wanted to do all the right things to make sure that no harm would come to the baby during its development.

You made a place for the little one in your home. You designed a special room in your house where this little image of you would reside. As you stood in the room, you imagined how beautiful it would be. It would be a place of total comfort and peace, and everything your child needed would be there. Just the thought of the new arrival made you smile. You’re going to be a parent. Yes, the labor is hard, but you know it will be worth it in the end.

God is a parent. He is our Heavenly Father. Although there are times you may think otherwise, your birth was planned. Even though your parents may not agree, you were not an accident. The Lord wanted you to be here. He labored extensively before the creation of the universe, planning for your arrival. Before the earth was formed, God knew you. He knew all about you, and He knew exactly how you were going to turn out. And in spite of all He knew, He arranged your place in the world.

The earth is your room. God looked at the chaos of this unformed planet, and made it inhabitable just for you. He blended the perfect combination of gases to make your air breathable, and formed the oceans and seas. He then placed them in strategic places as to not overtake the land. Your room was decorated in thousands of colors. He planted green trees, and flowers of many types and hues. All kinds of vegetation sprung up from the soil. Then there were animals. Everything you needed to survive was placed in this wonderful nursery called earth.

Your Heavenly Father handpicked a place for you in His home. He left out no detail in its design. He smiled at the thought of your arrival. He specifically created you for His good purpose. You are a one of a kind, unique creation. When the Lord made you, He broke the mold. You are special to Him. You’re engraved on the palms of His hands. He never stops thinking about you. God’s mind is consumed with you every moment, every second, every minute, every hour and everyday.

Child of God, you are fearfully and wonderfully made! You are a miracle, created in the image of the Father. There is nothing about you that was not planned. You were chosen from the beginning of time to be here. God’s labor pushed you forth into the universe, and He is glad. Don’t ever doubt your place. God’s labor was not in vain.

I am comforted with the fact that every hair on my head was numbered by God, my Creator. When He tells me that He has a plan for me, to give a future and a hope, I know that He purposefully labored for me. I thank Him for this great plan. Nice job.

I needed to hear this again.. yes what you wrote I knew but we need to be reminded of this from time to time. Today was that time for me....
never thought about the
earth is your room. or the phrase room was decorated in thousands of colors.....
so many jokes goes around about the mold was broken when we were born, but like you said, it was... it no joke.
and it comfort to know we were planed for a reason, and when we are down, we need to stop and think there is a BIGGER PLAN...
thanks for the story
