Wi Fi and Smart Phones, I-pads…egads!
Just when I hoped they were passing fads,
Looks like technology’s here to stay.
I liked things better the “old-school” way.
Now they have contests to see who’s best…
“The fastest text finger in the West.”
LOL… CU… and OMG,
Even the lingo’s too hard for me.
My son will text me from Cyber Space.
All that I want is to see his face.
To see my daughter, I have to look
At pictures posted on her Facebook.
I prefer hearing a human voice.
“iGen” will text if they have a choice.
Stores selling gloves that are fingerless,
Let them send texts in the snow, no less.
We “baby-boomers” thought it groovy,
Going with friends to see a movie.
Now kids watch movies on a cell phone,
It is no wonder they feel alone.
Call it progress, but I find it odd…
To “chat” with the world and ignore God.
It’s hard to say how much has been lost,
I hope “Gen Y” considers the cost.

“iGen” and “Gen Y” are terms used for the children of “baby-boomers” who are the Internet generation.
IMHO- means “In my humble opinion” in text speak.
