for I was deep in sin.
I did not know this God,
or what He might have been.
I wandered ‘round the world,
full of hate and pain.
Lost within the darkness,
of coffee colored rain.
My burden got me down,
I could not find my way.
I failed at everything,
I didn’t know how to pray.
One day I met a Man,
I told Him of my way.
He said, “Don’t worry now,
I’ll teach you how to pray.”
He got down on His knees,
ask me to do the same.
He said, Just praise the Lord,
and bless His Holy Name.”
As I knelt beside Him,
He reached and touched my hand.
I felt His power flow,
it made me feel so grand.
I had a quiet peace,
it really felt so nice.
He said He forgave me,
for He had paid the price.
I ask Him how He paid,
He said He died for me.
That He took all my sins,
and He had set me free.
So now I have the way,
it was His life He gave.
He was the Son of God,
had risen from the grave.
I started to believe,
that Jesus spoke to me.
That He has saved my life,
and Heaven I would see.
