The image was fuzzy;
The screen somewhat blurred.
I watched with new hope
To see what might occur.

Then, pain took over
And I lost all my thoughts
I fought to come back -
Control's what I sought.

Once the pain eased
I struggled to see
For suddenly people
Gathered all around me.

Was the moment coming
For a new life to start?
People were scrambling
To all do their part!

The anxious faces
Were suddenly still
I saw a door open
And felt such a thrill!

My birth day had come
As I went through that door!
The vision I saw
Called me to explore.

The Lord came to greet me
And embraced me with love
As He led me to meet
My Father above.

"This is your birth day
Into your new life!
Rejoice, you've released
All your suffering and strife!

It's time to pick up
Your key to salvation
And enter your home
In God's holy nation!"

This is absolutely lovely. This is kind of how I picture it, as sort of a transition from this life into our eternal life. Very well done!

Although some measure shifts this is a great poem worthy of note, it works in narrative form carrying a complete message. Nicely presented.

Well done as usual Peggy! I liked the way the poem started out giving the reader the impression that this was about a baby being born but then takes a twist and ends in a new spirit being birthed into heaven at the moment of death. Bravo! Love ya! Joyce

Oh, what a birthday celebration that will be! Your words cling to the reader's heart and offer a feeling of comfortable familiarity! Few are able to do this as well as you! Lovely poem, indeed!!

That will be the Heavenly moment we are all waiting for, as children of the Most High God. You presented this very well which brings us in awesome anticipation and joy of a life far beyond one can ever imagine. Sis. Peggy, I am blessed by the message of your poem. Great job! Love-Gloria
