As a congregation, we have discovered it is not only the job of the pastor to witness and to pray with others. We need to model God’s love in a hurting world. At any given time, whether at work or leisure, God can and often does give opportunity to share our faith if we are watching for Godly moments.
In the front row of our church sits one of our in-house missionaries. Jacob passionately talks about Christ at every opportunity. He recently led his brother to the Lord and had the pleasure of seeing a candle lit for him. I was sitting behind him and I watched him smile and clap his hands with the rest of the congregation. He seemed absolutely delighted to be a part of such great news.
He has a no-holds-barred kind of faith and asks straight-shooting questions. When he is talking about his Lord, he is all business. Recently there was a neighbour in his home and as the conversation progressed, Jacob took the opportunity and asked the neighbour if he knew Jesus. The neighbour was visibly uncomfortable and attempted to humour Jacob and replied, “No, I don’t think so. What is his last name?” Jacob looked at him very seriously and replied, “I guess you don’t know Him.”
Profound and simple truth. I am sure the neighbour has thought of that statement many times since. Only God knows how that statement will bear fruit at a later date.
I’m sure Jacob has his neighbour on his daily prayer list. I think it will be an interesting story some day to hear of how that neighbour came to know Jacob’s friend, Jesus.
God says in his Word that we need to be as little children. Jacob can understand that command and truly walk in it because Jacob is all of five years old. As a missionary, he is pint-sized. But that pint-sized missionary has a King-size faith.

What I might change - part of me wanted to know more about the in house missionary and why he chose that response. But I liked that you said he would be praying for that person and you couldn't wait to see the outcome.
This was well written.:)
Wow! I loved this story and it was made even greater by the twist at the end.
Awesome job! May the Lord continue to guide your quill as you write for the glory of HIM!
I liked the idea of candles being lit for new souls won to Christ. I could almost picture little Jacob, but at first the vision I had of him was of a middle-aged man.
That last line: "As a missionary, he is pint-sized. But that pint-sized missionary has a King-size faith." was excellent! Thank you for sharing!
