Encourage One Another
Words urge all to commit sinful acts. Deceiving us (if possible) to believe that acts aren’t deeds against GOD. “Oh, you can do that and it is alright.”
We, Christians, surely need encouragement to remain committed unto our GOD and Son
This encouragement and comfort guides us in stressful times, and our walk with the LORD at these difficult times.
In searching the scriptures for encouragement, (either for ourselves or others), we find many verses in the Book of Psalms. In trying times, these speak to our hearts and strengthen us. They give us joy instead of mourning.
These Psalms have enlightened many new converts. Personally, I in severe complications recited the 23rd Psalms, and the 4th verse for comfort.
“Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid, for YOU are close beside me. YOUR rod and YOUR staff protect and comfort me.“ Psalm 23:4 (NLT)
Paul, the missionary, apostle, and author of many New Testament books, also went through many problems following his conversion. Yet, he gave encouraging words to the churches under his tutorage.
“For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all risks of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of GOD, both of the FATHER and of CHRIST, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:1-3 (NLT)
Paul’s words still gives us encouragement by his undying love and faith during extreme times. Most of his writings were penned in prison, declining health, or during disputes with other apostles or countrymen.
JESUS speaks of the true rest in HIM. “Come to ME, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take MY yoke upon you and learn of ME, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and will find rest for your souls. For MY yoke is easy and MY burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)
How wonderful it is to have such a caring and loving Savior. HE is the Truth and won’t lie unto us, so we know what HE tells us is right. HE also promised HE would not leave us. HIS encouragement is very necessary in this darkened world of pain and sin.
Walk with the assurance that HE is there and will see us through all trials we go through.
Walking in the faith of GOD, we will do the right and not the wrong. “And Joses, who was named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement, a Levite of the Country of Cyprus, having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.” Acts 4:36 (NKJV)
We find in the Old Testament that Moses was to encourage Joshua in his new leadership of the Israelites. Joshua was Moses’ replacement leading HIS people to the Promised Land. GOD would not allow Moses go because Moses had disobeyed GOD). Deut. 3:28 (NKJV)
Continuing in the faith, we will be taken up with CHRIST on the day HE returns for those whose names are written in the LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE. Those dead in CHRIST will arise first, then those alive will be caught up together with them.
Thus we shall always be with the LORD.
“Therefore comfort one another with these words.” I Thess. 4:18.
