I thought I knew what love is. I thought that my intellect could somehow define this mystery. I based my definition of love on limited worldly experiences--my interactions with the opposite sex and observations of those who claimed to have found love. What a naive point of view. I had accepted a reality rooted in fairy tales. Like a child who wishes upon a star, I wished upon love only to find it was a disappointment. Love is not something to be found, it is a gift to be received.
Even in my wanton foolishness, I was not beyond the reach of real love. God found me in my emptiness. He spoke to my heart and revealed to me that which is greater than anything I had thought possible. Love is not social, it is spiritual. With this realization I now have formed a new definition of love. I have a more accurate picture of what it means to be held in such high regard by the One who knows me fully. God accepts me just as I am, yet he refuses to let me go on as such. He has transformed me.
God is love, and I am loved by God. My beloved is mine and I am His. No other gift is more precious. No definition more profound.

I liked this line...
"Love is not something to be found, it is a gift to be received."
I wonder if you could tell more of your story...more of what it was like before you found real love and what it was like finding it. Just a suggestion.
