Topic: Angry (08/02/07)
Lord, I come to You today
Full of anger inside.
I don't understand this, Lord
And from You I want to hide!

Why did my child have to suffer?
Why did they have to die?
Where were You when I needed help?
I want to believe You tried!

I prayed so hard for healing
But healing did not come...
I don't understand this Lord
I know You touch and heal some.

Why was mine a chosen one
To avert Your healing touch?
My anger is a bitter one
I've never felt so much!

"My child, my precious child
Do you not see I am there?
I never left or abandoned you
For about your life I care!

Trust is a difficult thing
When ahead you cannot see...
But that is when I am GOD
And know what's best for thee.

When sin entered the life of Man
In the Garden of Eden that day,
So did illness, death and destruction
For initially that was not my way!

I can send this planet spinning
At a single spoken Word -
But I continue to draw Man near
For my voice to be heard.

Come to Me and I will give you rest-
Lean not on your own understanding.
Trust that I can use this event
For Kingdom work and planning!

You loved your child so very much
But no more than I love you -
Trust me to use this little life
For Heavenly work to do.

Yours for a season, my child,
But Mine for eternity!
Rest in the assurance that grief
Will turn to peace with Me.

Anger is a festering wound
That robs your joyful heart.
Remember in love, have faith in Me
And know I'll never depart.

My peace I want to give to you
To replace this anger today.
Seek Me and call out to me
I will hear you when you pray!

I know the plans I have for you
Let me show you I am not done-
One day you will see clearly
For victory has already been won!"

Father, thank You for showing me
How to release this anger to You.
Now guide me, and give me strength
In all You lead me to do...

May I be a shining light to all
Who also suffer this pain.
Lord, let them see You in me
As Your peace I seek to gain.

Use this event in my life
As one that will glorify You!
Shape me, mold me, teach me
To be a witness through and through.

Great poem; it flows very well. I enjoyed seeing a couple of verses I recognize from the Bible, too. :) I can tell you put a lot of thought into this, and the result is something you can be very proud of!

A lovely poem. I like how you worked your way from not understanding and allowing bitterness in your heart to the point where your understanding of God's plan changes to acceptance of His will.

Beautiful poetry about a painful subject. Your entry reflects a journey through the pain of loss, and on into the hope for eternity. I'm glad your MC was able to turn back to the loving Father who can be the only one to offer peace in such circumstances.

This is a poem I wrote for my upcoming book, 'Hope from Heaven When Earth Loses a Child.' This book started when my cousin's children both died in 1999. I am just now focusing on completion for other families who have lost children by various means. We hope to address many of the questions and anger parents feel after the loss of a child.
