Being the child of divorced parents..... holidays are still the most difficult! I liked how your story offers hope for the future! Satan tries to make it so we get "stuck" in the past, and he loves when our past destroys our future, but your story does a great job of showing the VICTORY in JESUS! God did for me what HE did for Eric. HE gave me such a great husband and four wonderful children. He does give us beauty for ashes..... Your story is so precious!

A well constructed story that pulls at the heartstrings and rings with the reality that in Christ we do not have to replicate the mistakes of our parents. One little technical thing: 'though he had' is repeated too close together. think of another way to express the same idea.

Very nice. Great to end a Christmas story with hope set against the carnage of life. Good work!

Hi Matthew. Just a quick note once again to let you know that your entry made it into the semi-finals for the Christmas Challenge. All the ratings for the semi-finalists were very, very close, so even though you didn't actually receive an award, you still did very well. To be either placing or making it into the semi-finals virtually every week really is quite an achievement. With love, Deb
