ADD TO MY FAVORITES
With a needle and thread
Sewing for the needy
Is where God has led.
Making caps for winter
Sweaters in the spring
Swimsuits in the summer
I can sew anything.
Robes for the elderly
No buttons, just snaps
To keep them warm at night
Or curl up for naps.
To see smiling faces
Sewing toys for Head Start
Eyes beaming with delight
Causes gladness in my heart.
Though I’m on a budget
Donations appear sometimes
Bolts of cloth and patterns
God can really stretch a dime.
Used to make rag dolls
For little girls to hug
Or in a few short hours
Stitch a small, square, throw rug.
My fingers are stiffening
Arthritis settles in
Still sewing for others
All for the glory of Him.
Use your God-given gift
Pass joy to others in need
Doing the best you can
Brings fulfillment indeed.
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)
