I joined FaithWriters way-back-when in 2002. I have written hundreds of poems, some of which have earned recognition and awards. I also have a published novel: "If You Only Knew!" (a good old Canadian Prairie story based on fact--of the depression years and WWII days. A good easy-read story that will warm your heart.)
I am thankful to the Lord for my Christian parents who brought me up to love the Lord, and who taught me that there is no such thing as a second-generation Christian, but that everyone must personally accept Christ's gift of salvation, the shedding of His blood on Calvary. I gave my heart to the Lord at the age of eight.
My husband, Hart, and I have been married 52 years. During our married lifetime we shared in the raising of many children, none of whom were born to us. I also worked with physically and mentally handicapped people; and have been caregiver for elderly relatives and friends. I am now a caregiver for Hart, who lost his right leg in 2007, due to the super bug. He is doing fine now. We enjoy each other's company and the company of our dog, Corky, and our four cats, Keeper, Ezee, Scooter, and Sparky, all rescue cats. Three years ago my older sister, Evelyn Splane, a retired missionary from India, joined our family. We enjoy having her living with us.
Besides having graduated from Bible college in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, I have received certificates from two international writing courses, as well as from business college.
